Amy Brown - Actor
Hello from Amy Brown...
Hello, I am Amy Brown and I am a RADA trained Actor and Voiceover Artist.
I have worked as a professional Actor, under the stage name Amy Brown, playing a multitude of leading roles, since 2004.
Theatres I have performed at include: the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and Swan Theatre (the RSC), the Lyric Hammersmith, the Novello Theatre London, Birmingham Repertory Theatre, Salisbury Playhouse, West Yorkshire Playhouse, Oxford Playhouse, Cambridge Arts Theatre, Northern Stage Newcastle, Churchill Theatre Bromley, Richmond Theatre, Royal Theatre Northampton and the New Vic Theatre Stoke-on-Trent.
I have been lucky enough to play some classic, and much loved roles, such as Lucy in 'the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe', Scout in 'To Kill A Mockingbird' and Hermia in 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'.
The international tour of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' took me to the USA, with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. We performed at The Lincoln Centre, New York, The Hill Auditorium, Ann Arbor and then back home to the Royal Festival Hall, London. We received multiple standing ovations every evening and it was quite an experience!
During my year long contract at the RSC, as part of the Complete Works Season, I played Margaret in Marianne Elliott's award winning production of 'Much Ado About Nothing', starring Tamsin Greig. This was performed to packed auditoriums, both in Stratford-Upon-Avon and in the West End.
In addition to all of my stage work, I have worked for the BBC, Channel 4 and was directed by Oscar winning Writer and Director, Jane Campion in the feature film 'Bright Star'.
Amy is currently understudying the characters of Susannah Highland and Joy Sampson in 'The Southbury Child' by the inimitable Stephen Beresford. Directed by Sir Nicholas Hytner, it has been described as "the play of the year" by The Telegraph. Amy is utterly delighted to be treading the boards once again, especially as she is in such excellent company, with a stellar cast led by Alex Jennings. It is showing at both the Chichester Festival Theatre and the Bridge Theatre this summer. To book tickets, please visit: https://bridgetheatre.co.uk/whats-on/the-southbury-child/
It is a play that touches upon many themes and will take you from the extremes of grief, to the highs of pure joy, in a delightful ballet through human nature.
